COVINGTON – Mrs. Margaret Snoddy Engel, age 54, of Shumway, Ill., died in an Effingham, Ill., hospital Tuesday, Dec. 10, it was learned here this week. Mrs. Engel was born Sept. 25, 1914 at Snoddy's Mill community, the daughter of Walter O. and Lola Yerkes Snoddy. She was married to Emil Engel of Shumway and he preceded her in death. She was a member of the Lutheran Church and had worked for the Farm Bureau in Effingham for several years. Surviving her are: her father, W. O. Snoddy of Covington Rt. 1; three daughters, Mrs. Romaine Lagerhausam of Shumway, Mrs. Rhode Wygachewicz of Champaign, Ill., and Mrs. Roberta Geisler of Mich., several grandchildren; three brothers, Charles M. Snoddy of Evansville, William D. Snoddy of Florida, and Walter Owen Snoddy Jr., address unknown; and two sisters, Mrs. Betty Jean Hembrey of Danville, Ill., and Mrs. Dorothy Matterson of Denver, Colo. She was preceded in death by her mother. Funeral services and burial were in Shumway. – jlr
